Three Haiku About  A Spring Hike

“I saw two rattlesnakes

Slithering up the mountain.”

We step gingerly.

“Rattler on the trail

Sunning on the trailside left.

Watch out for your dog.”

I made a wrong turn;

Finished at different trailhead.

Went for car. Dog pleased.
